Tribe Aisle was invited to showcase India's tribal art at SIPA, Columbia University
Chanakya with Mayor of Philadelphia Michael Nutter
Chanakya's association with Tribal Art began as an effort to create income opportunities for tribal artisans in the hinterlands of Bastar, Chattisgarh. He was deeply impacted by the assassination of mentor and senior Congress leader Sh. Mahendra Karma in an ambush in the Darbha Valley and was spurred to work for the upliftment of the people of the region. He set up TribeMall Export in 2014 in Raipur, Chattisgarh and then conceptualised Tribe Aisle to showcase the art of the region and offerings from other Indian tribes.
Chanakya was felicitated by the Government of Chattisgarh in 2016 for his work for tribal artisans
